can anyone recommend the best standard and compatible wireless network card, driver, and Bluetooth capabilities for my new Z2 G9 workstation?
Windows 10 (64-bit)
four motherboard slots below:
SLOT 1 PCIe5 x16 75w
SLOT 2 PCIe3 x4(1)
SLOT 3 PCIe3 x16(4)
SLOT 4 PCIe3 x4
---
is there a link to a table or list of compatible wireless hardware & software options for this product in HPs online support library?
I purchased a TP-Link AXE5400 wifi 6E Bluetooth 5.2 PCIe adapter TP-Link WiFi 6E AX5400 PCIe WiFi Card (Archer TXE75E), Tri Band Wireless Adapter | eBay, but the hardware doesn't fit the motherboard slots above.
---
also, this particular workstation doesn't have HDMI port anywhere on it.
there is HDMI I/O on the monitor, but not on the workstation itself.
separate issue.
---
why doesn't HP include pre-installed and pre-configured compatible wireless technology in workstations that are shipped to customers?
crawling, this workstation feels incomplete; like its not put together properly.

The solution is to find the M.2 WLAN slot on your PC's motherboard that the service manual indicates is present in chapter 4, page 51 of the service manual, and buy the desktop Wi-Fi kit I posted.
The M.2 Wi-Fi card slot is labeled as item #12.
The AX210 is Bluetooth 5.2 and the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth both work from the M.2 WLAN slot.

Hi:
Chapter 4, page 44 of the service manual shows the motherboard has a M.2 slot that supports a Wi-Fi adapter.
Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)
The easiest thing to do would be to buy a Desktop conversion kit where you install the wifi card in the M.2 wifi slot and run the antenna wires from the card to a pair of external antennas which fit in a PCI mounting bracket after you remove the blank.
Something like this.
I think on the business workstations you have to order them configured with a Wi-Fi adapter.

The specs for your system include optional / recommended equipment.
The following wireless lan is recommended Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 and Bluetooth 5.2 M.2 non-vPro
Normally sales would attempt to load system up, not sure why this option was not explained
The link you listed shows only a WiFi card, not a combo wi-fi / Bluetooth
It will fit in any of the PCIe slots assuming they are empty.
I read where the motherboard has a 2230 M.2 slot for WiFi / Bluetooth .

thank you for your quick response.
but my slots are PCIe3 and not M.2
pictures attached
do you know which wifi and Bluetooth kit is compatible with a PCIe3 x4 slot?
in the picture, after attempting to install, the TP-Link hardware doesn't fit the PCIe3 x4 slot.
is that because its designed for PCI3 and not PCIe3?

You're very welcome.
Please refer to the system board diagram in chapter 4, page 51 of the service manual.
The M.2 Wi-Fi card slot is labeled as item #12.
HP desktop PC's have all come with M.2 Wi-Fi slots for several years now, including yours.

That card will fit in any of the slots, there will just be space left over. It is possible that the card works only in certain slots but it will still fit.
I would put it in the x16 slots unless you have a graphics board.
[edit] I was mistaken, the box you have shows bluetooth 5.2 so you should be OK.

you are kidding me!?
this card will fit into any of those PCIe3 slots???
when I tried pressing it into the x4 slots, it felt like I was ruining it or something.
didn't even bother trying the x16 slots.
user error?
let me give it another try and see what happens.

In order for BlueTooth to work you must connect the usb cable to a USB header on the motherboard
I looked on page 51 of the service manual and the only USB port available is #17 and that header is being used for the front panel. You will have to obtain a USB PCIe card that had an internal header to allow the Wi-Fi card to provide Bluetooth services. I can recommend one if you want. I recommend you return the Wi-Fi card and buy the M.2 WLAN / Bluetooth adapter along with the antenna kit. Possibly @Paul_Tikkanen can recommend one as all I can do is guess at what is at Amazon or eBay. The HP agent you got the system from should be able to provide part numbers
[edit] Want to mention that the card you bought is good and I personally think its external antenna is better than using an internal cable. You have an all metal case and an antenna inside the case will pick up signals but not as good as one outside. This is just my .02c opinion.
