Hallo.
the power supply on our Z820 is likely dead. ((https://support.hp.com/de-de/document/c03414734, red led , 4 beeps/flashes, if sole power supply is connected to mains no fan starts)
It is a HP p/n 623196-002 / Spare p/n 716646-001 (DPS-1125AB A REV06), but our administration struggles to order one.
I could get a 719799-002 (DPS-1125A) localy.
Anyone know if this Z840 power-supply will work in a Z820?
Thanks in advance for any reply,
Ralf

no, using a z840 supply in a z820 will not work the plastic power connectors on the supplies are different
also, i fail to understand how you can't source a z820 power supply they are listed used/new on ebay and also on amazon
the upgraded 1140 watt supply can be found for around 35/40 us dollars on ebay

Thanks!
The Problem for me is not finding place willing to sell a refurbished unit, but finding a supplier which is on the approved list of our organisation .... in short the bureocracy is keeping me from working... likely I will buy the unit privately and just install...
PS.: The german phone HP support told me that the power hast to fit and otherwise it shoudl work - but it sounded as they did not quite get the question correct...
