I am new to the Polycom community.  I am looking for documentation that provides information we can use to write APIs to allow call initiators the ability to take control of all participants in a call.  Any and all information is very appreciated.

Before I proceed with the API support, I would like to know what Polycom products that you are using.

Here are the manuals I have been reviewing.

Polycom Real Presence Platform API Developer Guide

The documentation refers to other manuals, listed below to be used as reference material.

Polycom® RealPresence® Platform Application Programming Interface (API) Reference Guide  (where do we get this manual?)

• DMA™ 7000 system documentation set http://support.polycom.com/PolycomService/support/us/support/ne twork/management_scheduling/dma_7000...

• RealPresence Resource Manager system documentation set http://support.polycom.com/PolycomService/support/us/support/network/management_scheduling/cma_4000_...

We can download the Software Developers Kit from the Polycom website, so that is not an issue.  Here are some questions we still have that perhaps you or your Team can answer.

The documentation I have read thus far indicates special authorization is needed to access the commands/resources available to us to perform conference control features such as mute, suspend, and disconnect.  Will the documents listed above identify the actions we need to perform to establish this authorization?  Do we need to use a specific user to establish this authorization?

Do we require any additional Polycom software licenses or polycom user IDs to create custom programs?

Lastly, we would like to have the ability to only view the directories containing the Polycom products we have installed on our server.  Does this require the use of a special Polycom user ID?  Does this require any additional Polycom software licenses?

Sorry for the delay in response. Please find below answers along with asked questions

Question:
I have read thus far indicates special authorization is needed to access the commands/resources available to us to perform conference control features such as mute, suspend, and disconnect.
Answer:
To continue to use APIs, API license has to be enabled for the product (espectially here for Polycom DMA). Once the API license is there then API requests can be issued to perform all operations for controlling the on-going conferences.

Question:
Will the documents listed above identify the actions we need to perform to establish this authorization?  Do we need to use a specific user to establish this authorization?
Answer:

Document explains the action for each API call and autherization will be part of Header. There are user roles defined at Polycom DMA. Those users only can send the specific API calls

Question:
Do we require any additional Polycom software licenses or polycom user IDs to create custom programs?
Answer:

As I mentioned, it requires API license for the specific product
