Greetings!! Welcome to HP support Forum . The .bin file need to be created using HP Bios Config utility The command that need to be used in the BCU is HPQpswd.exe This opens a window on which you can enter the BIOS password and then you need to give a file name to store the encrypted password in a .bin file After .bin file is created .This command needs to be used to set a BIOS admin password BIOSConfigUtility.exe /nspwdfile:"new password.bin" "new password.bin" - This is the file name that you created for the encrypted password Important . The .bin file needs to be stored in another location like the user's desktop When running the command BIOSConfigUtility.exe /nspwdfile:"new password.bin" Make sure the path is selected For eg : BIOSConfigUtility.exe /nspwdfile: c:/user/...../desktop/"new password.bin" Just additional information , the latest HP BCU version is 4.0.24.1 You can download it here http://ftp.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/cmit/HP_BCU.html You can find the command and details here in this whitepaper https://whp-aus2.cold.extweb.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/cmit/whitepapers/BIOS_Configuration_Utility_Use...
