Our company specializes in shrink wrap labels, and we have a HP Indigo 6900 digital press. We are just starting to get familiar with the new capabilities of SmartStream Designer, Mosaic and Collage. We're trying to create some samples that we can use to promote these capabilities, and we have artwork layers in Illustrator for different plates like the dieline, opaque white, and/or metallic, etc. When we output to PDF to send to the RIP, we get a flattened PDF no matter what we set the Adobe PDF preferences to inside SmartStream Designer. We need to have the PDF output with layers intact. If the plugin is meant to output only a flat PDF, then how do you reconcile that with a file that contains the dieline and all the other plate information? Or is the plugin really supposed to be outputting a layered PDF if we choose? I can't find any documentation on it other than that says it outputs a PDF.
