HP Z230
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've been using the following command to check silently for updates and install them:

HPImageAssistant.exe /Operation:Analyze /Action:Install /SoftpaqDownnloadFolder:c:\HPIA /Silent /ReportFolder:C:\HPIA

However, I've noticed that on ALL Z230 machines we have, the command never completes. Looking into it further, I've found that it gets stuck on Softpaq SP98909. What happens is that HP Image Assistant attempts to silently install that softpaq and the softpaq stops and shows a dialog box stating "another version of this software is already running". You have to click OK or it won't continue and the driver never installs itself.

This is a problem when trying to silently install all driver updates. What can be done to get around this or exclude this particular softpaq from being downloaded and installed?

HPIA has been non-functional since Monday. Even manually running it results in the SoftPaqs not actually downloading. Sometimes it says "platform not supported." We've reverted to running SPDM for now.

We are also experiencing issues on different models. The html reports show a lot of failed downloads. But not all of them.

The files do seem to download. But once the download is finished (icon change) the extract does not happen and the downloaded file gets deleted.

In the debug log you only see multiple downloading lines for the same file?

Our firewall is also logging the downloads multiple times. Traffic is going to g1t6356.austin.hp.com

I found that

Version 4.1.2.1 does not seem to be affected.

Version 4.2.4.1 has download problems in GUI and CLI mode. They started this month.

shared it into another post about Image Assistant not saving downloads
