Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Nero 6 appears to install.  The installation left an icon on the desktop.  Nero 6 includes several programs, and each can be started via the icon.  Each of the several programs appears to start, e.g., puts up its graphics.  But for any reading or wriiting of CDs or DVDs in the built-in CD/DVD reader/writer, nothing happens.

What's wrong?  I used that version of Nero for years on Windows XP 32 bit SP3.  It is my main means of making backup copies of important CDs and DVDs.

I do have a Samsung USB (universal serial bus) drive I should be able to use for directly copying one CD or DVD to another, but if Nero 6 won't work there's something wrong.

What's wrong?  The Nero 6 software is really good.  Not being able to run it is really bad.

@sigmund1

Nero 6 is a 14 years old product, Nero has Nero version 18 now.  It was really good 14 years ago.  You can still use Nero 6 on XP machines or try the following product (free) for Windows  10
