hp omen 15ax002na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My hp support assistant had been working fine on my omen 15 laptop up until recently when it started to crash on loading the program with window stating that "hp support assistant had stopped working".

I have tried a clean install of the latest availible version to date and i still have the same problems.

the only recent changes  i can think of to the system was a windows 10 update,im on 10.0.15063

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mike

Hey there! @jordo2k1, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!

I understand HP support assistant on your PC has stopped functioning.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

Do you get any errors about support assistant on your PC?

Please try the steps recommended below.

If HP Assistant does not open, use the following steps to restore your computer to a previous date when HP Support Assistant opened properly.
In Windows, search for and open Run.
Type RSTRUI.EXE, then press Enter.
Click Next.
In the Date and Time column, select a date when HP Support Assistant opened properly.
Click Next.
Confirm you restore point date, then click Finish.
The next time you click the HP Support Assistant icon , HP Support Assistant will open.

Refer this article to further troubleshoot HP support assistant issues.

Let me know if this helps!

Have a great day ahead! 🙂

ive been doing some messing about closing some apps down and running hp support assistant with and without them and have found the issue.

there is a software conflict with msi afterburner.

when this application is running it somehow stops hp support assistant from starting up properly and causes a crash.

any ideas of  a fix or work around?

cheers

mike
