need to update drivers in my 11 year old hp pavilion laptop

Hey there,

 

11 year might be too old, but you can always check the HP Support site (https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers).  Click "Desktop" on that page, and enter the Serial number of your machine, and if HP still has them, you should be able to download any drivers that there are for that computer
