In your opinion, the problem can not be the drivers!

The heat is from he workload, as you appreciate, but I would not say that W10 would run hotter than W8.

So maybe W8 has fewer background services, and that is the difference.

My BIOS has the option to have the fan running a all times, and that is what I choose, which might give me a jaundiced view.
