Not a question on systems this time, but I note I started as a "Student", which I worried about slightly as I have not had that privilege for more nearly 40 year. I realised there was some sort of academic progress being assessed here. At one point I was a "Tutor" which I quite liked and then an "Intern" which in the UK sounds like a backward step. Now I am a "Teacher". How is this all worked out please, Experts out there? 🙂

Thanks again. Just curious about the time qualification, is it automatic after a defined number of days. Student to Teacher seemed quite quick?

You're very welcome.
Advancement is based on the # of posts you originate, posts you reply to, kudos received, and accepted solutions you are credited for.
From what I recall, you can get to the first 6 levels pretty quick.
The number of posts from one level to the next increases dramatically the higher up the line you go.
For example (#'s are imaginary), student to teacher might be an additional 100 posts, Professor to Distinguished Professor may be an additional 2,500 posts.
I think you get an e-mail notifiying you of your change of status.
Check the # of posts difference from one level to the next as you get these notifications.
You will see that you will need an increasingly higher # of posts to get to the next level.
