I've had an account on hp.com for some years now. Logging in today I noticed there was an option to log-in with Google. Since i was registered with my Google email address, I tried that option, expecting my existing account to be found a linked. Instead I got a brand new account with the same address as my old account. Now when I log in and present my email address I'm notified there are two accounts and prompted which one to log in with, but there is no option I can find to combine the two.
I would like to log in with Google for obvious reasons, but there is stuff in my original account that I would like to keep, so I don't want to switch to using the newly created Google account. But I would like to combine the two accounts together, so that I can use "log in with Google" to get to my trusty old account. Is there any way to do this? Thanks.

Hello, and thank you for the response. I think you may have sent me a different link than you intended. Either that or you misunderstood my question. The link goes to a page explaining how to fix an issue creating or logging into an account with the Android app. My problem is different. I am not using Android, I am on a PC using the Chrome browser. And I have no problem logging in. My issue is that I have two accounts with the same email address. One was created manually, several years ago. The other was created just last week when I tried to use "sign in with Google". The login system failed to recognized that there was already an account tied to my email address.
As a result, when I log in by first entering my email address, I am shown a popup telling me that there are two accounts for that address and forcing me to choose between them. I can log into either account without issue. What I want is to not have two accounts. I want to be able to use "log in with Google", and when I do that I want to be logged into my original account, with access to all my registered devices and all the data I have stored in that account. Can you help me with that? Thank you.

Thank you for responding, I appreciate your time and effort.
I apologize for the inconvenience.
For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this.
- Do you get any error message?
- May I know the model of the PC/Laptop or the Printer?
- Is it Windows 10 or 11?
- Is it HP support account or the Microsoft login account or **bleep** account?
Please feel free to contact us here anytime you need any further assistance.
Have a great day!

Hi:
- No error message, I am just told that there are two accounts with my email address and I have to choose one of them.
- My printer is a HP OfficeJet Pro 8610. I have two HP laptops. But the issue isn't related to any of the hardware, I am strictly trying to combine two HP accounts.
- One of the laptops is Windows 7, the other is Linux. The same thing happens at work using Windows 10.
- It is an HP support account (the account I'm using to access these forums) with a Google email address. One was created at hp.com by filling out a form and the other was created by choosing "sign in with Google" at the login screen.

Thank you for responding, I appreciate your time and effort.
To close your HP account, go to the website and click on “My Account” in the upper right corner of the page. Click on “Manage My Account” and then select “Close my account.
1. Clicking on the gear icon on the Metro screen.
2. Now scroll down and click on the more settings tab.
3. Click on Add or remove user accounts under User Accounts and Family Safety category
4. Click on the user you would like to delete/remove
5. Click on Delete the account tab. located to the left
6. The following window prompts you weather to keep or delete files in User’s document.
If you don’t want to keep the files, they will be saved on the admin desktop and all files will be kept in a folder with the user name which you are intended to delete/remove.
7. Click on “Delete Account” button to complete the process.
Please feel free to contact us here anytime you need any further assistance.
Have a great day!

Thanks for the additional info. I'm sorry but none of what you listed in your last post comports with anything I can see on the website.
What I see in the upper-right corner is my first name and a dropdown menu that offers "My HP account", "Support Dashboard", or "Sign out".
Below that is a blue bar and at the far right of that is a menu labeled "My HP Account" with options "My HP Dashboard" and "HP Account Benefits".
Both Dashboard options take me to a page where I can add devices. The "Benefits" page is just a slicksheet describing the benefits of having an account. "My HP Account" opens a new tab at https://account.id.hp.com/profile with two tabs. The first is "Personal Information" and will basically let me change my name. The "Security" tab says that my login information is currently managed by my Google account and to make changes I need to go there. This shows my email address, password, and mobile phone (none of which can be changed) and lists my active sessions and allows me to selectively cancel them. Nowhere is there an option to delete the account.
Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. Can you be more specific about "To close your HP account, go to the website..."? Perhaps there is another page within hp.com that does contain a My Account link? Thanks.

Thank you for responding, I appreciate your time and effort.
As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now. I would request you to contact our HP Support Engineers and should be able to sort this out.
Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the HP support accounts.
Follow the instructions below to reach them:
1) Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp
2) Select your product type below.
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences.
6) Fill the web form and proceed further.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
You can also click on the link Phone Assist Worldwide
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
