Samsung CLP-310 printer
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

I've got a Mac mini M1 (ARM). I'm trying to get it to drive my Samsung CLP-310. Since all tech support requests redirect me to HP, I'll assume HP bought out the Samsung printer line.

When I go to the HP Tech Support section for printers, it asks for the serial number on my printer.  It's a Samsung, but what the hey? If HP bought the Samsung printer division, they should be doing tech support too. Lo and behold, I enter the serial number and....they can't identify it. I can't get any farther until I enter a serial number they recognize. The serial number isn't going to change. How do I get any kind of tech support for this printer?

HP did purchase Samsung printers a few years ago.

I did find reference to this printer on the 'net - it is circa "Vista" years.

Old printer.

The important bits / Answer

  • Printer, regardless of its model, is well out of warranty.
  • HP Support services hardware for covered items that are in Warranty.
  • Even for products in Warranty, HP does not accept email support requests.

For those reading:

HP Support contact information is posted later in this message.

Less important to the context of your question:

  • I have no idea whether any of our Experts has ever even seen a Samsung printer - of any vintage.

  • If anyone has experience with a Samsung printer, you might receive help if you post your question in the Community.

  • The information / documentation for the printer is still available in the printer's website support pages.
