HP Recommended

Hello,

My computer was expected to be delivered on December 17th. They attempted delivery today (December 18th) without notifying me, and I was not home.  Fedex said I could pick up the package after 5:30 today at a location that closes at 5 pm. Their next delivery attempts will be December 20th and 21st. I'll be out of town from the 19th to the 27th, so I need FedEx to hold the package instead. Yet, when I called them they said that the shipper placed a restriction on my package. I need this to be removed.   I just need to figure how to contact HP to contact FedEx, so that they can hold my package. I don’t want the computer to be returned to China or lose the discounts I got on Cyber Monday. I realize HP is closed because of severe  storms, so I don’t mean to sound petty. I’m praying for them, their families, and their friends. My anger is directed at Fedex for not having more options. Thank you for any help.

Welcome to the HP Community.

Nothing can be done "here" - we are not HP Support.

The HP Community is not directly attached to any HP department or service.

We can ask that the question be sent for Review - doing so can a slow process (you know, because we are not HP).

What if an agent answers your plea for help?

The trick is to get a hold of a department that can (and would be willing) to intervene.  Could that happen?  Sure, maybe.  Is it going to be fast enough?  Inter-department special requests might move quickly or with a glacial slowness that rivals "nothing moving here".

That said, the timing is the thing - Your best option:

Figure out a way to get that package from FedEx according to their rules.

You might be able to convince FedEx to allow a friend or colleague to pick up your package.

Note that my comments reflect a personal opinion - we are not HP and we do not speak for what HP can or will do.

Request for Review

  • I have submitted a request that our Community moderators review your question / concern.

Worth Noting

  • Our Community is not an HP business group.
  • We are not HP Technical Support, nor are we HP Sales, Service, or Warranty.
  • Our request for assistance on your behalf does not influence the outcome:  Our request is not a magic back door into HP Support.
  • The time frame (how long it takes) for a response is not controlled by the Community.
  • If / When there is a response, a Community moderator / agent will (should) post back on this thread before using other methods to contact you.

Important

  • Do not contact random numbers posted in a public or private message by “new members”.  Vermin are looking for victims – don’t be next.
  • Please do not post any personal or case information here - we cannot make use of the data.
  • Posting personal information at a public site increases your risk from rats and scammers.

Thank you for participating in the HP Community.

The Community is a separate wing of the HP website - We are not an HP business group.

Our Community is comprised of volunteers - people who own and use HP devices.
