Hi @Scheible,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP Prime Calculator can handle Laplace transforms using its built-in functionality. Here's how you can use it for Laplace transforms.

Steps to Compute Laplace Transform

Access the CAS (Computer Algebra System):

  • Press the CAS button on your HP Prime Calculator.

Enter the Laplace Command:

  • The command for the Laplace transform is laplace(<expression>, <variable>, <transform_variable>).

Execute the Command:

  • Press the Enter key to compute the Laplace transform. The calculator will return the result, such as: 1s+2\frac{1}{s + 2}s+21

Inverse Laplace Transform

If you want to compute the inverse Laplace transform:

Use the invlaplace command in CAS.

Syntax: invlaplace(<expression>, <transform_variable>, <variable>).

Example:

invlaplace(1/(s + 2), s, t)

Result:

  1. e−2te^{-2t}e−2t

Tips for Effective Use

  • Switch to Exact Mode: If you want exact results (fractions and symbolic outputs), make sure you're in exact mode by checking the settings in CAS.
  • Syntax Accuracy: Pay attention to the syntax, especially parentheses and variable names.
  • Complex Expressions: If working with a more complex function, use simplify() to reduce the result for readability.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
