I received this email from noreply@hp.com and was wondering if it was legit or a scam. Any insights?
Dear {name},
You are a valued HP customer and we greatly appreciate your business. Your satisfaction is always our number one priority.
Due to high demand for some HP products this Holiday season, we are experiencing shipping delays on certain orders Unfortunately, the custom computer you recently ordered has been impacted by this situation and will not arrive by Christmas Day. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause, and our teams are working around the clock to fulfil your order as quickly as possible.
We now expect to ship your computer on 12/21/2019. We will ship it using the fastest service possible and you can expect delivery 3 - 4 business days after that. Once your order ships, you’ll receive email notice with the tracking number. At any time, you can signup for text alerts about your order’s shipment – navigate to your order detail at
https://store.hp.com/us/en/MyAccountOrderStatusView and input your order number and email address and click the “Track shipping” button at the top. From there, you can sign up for text alerts if you haven’t already.
We also want to offer you 3 options to offset the inconvenience caused by delayed shipping (please select your choice by clicking the link below as soon as possible):
- We will apply a $50 credit on your order.
- We will send you a $50 coupon to use on your next purchase (coupon expires in 1 year - December 2020)
- You may cancel your order for a full refund and we’ll send you a $50 coupon for a future purchase.
Make your choice here – please respond as soon as possible
Help with delivery? FedEx Delivery Manager is a helpful online resource to adjust delivery date, time and location if you want to wait for your original order but will be out of town or unable to accommodate the new delivery date. Please go to http://www.fedex.com/us/delivery to sign up and learn more. Please note that available options may update once your order ships and as shipment progresses.
Need something under the tree? If you need a computer delivered before Christmas, consider one of the ready-to-ship PCs online for laptops https://store.hp.com/us/en/vwa/laptops/ordr=Ready-to-Ship;segm=Home and for desktops https://store.hp.com/us/en/vwa/desktops/ordr=Ready-to-Ship;segm=Home. Choose Next Business Day at checkout, and we’ll refund your shipping charges. A must-have accessory like a mouse or carrying case can be a great option to unwrap while the PC is on its way; options can be found here https://store.hp.com/us/en/cv/accessories.If you also want to receive a coupon, credit, or to cancel your current order for a full refund, please indicate your preference through the link above.
We hope you will be able to wait for your custom PC - it will be worth it! However, if you do choose to cancel, we'll refund your purchase price in full. We'll process your request as quickly as possible, and you can expect your refund in your payment account within a week.
If we don’t get a response from you, then we’ll assume the later shipment date is okay. Please use the survey link provided so we can take action quickly on your order. If you have questions, you can contact us at 888-267-5847 from 5 am to 5 pm Pacific Standard Time.
Once again, our entire team at the HP.com Store sincerely apologizes for any inconveniences this may cause. We too have families and friends whose happiness at the Holidays is important to us, and we recognize how this delay may affect your plans. We value your business and are working hard to deliver for you.
With appreciation,
The HP.com Store Customer Service Team

Well, if you actually have an order in with HP, that is your first hint.
For example,
If you did not order a new device, the email is certainly not intended for you, regardless of any links, hints, promises.
If you are unsure, do not respond. Simple. Don't do it.
If you are unsure,
If you did indeed order a new product from HP,
Contact HP Sales using the same contact information you used when you ordered the device.
You will have received specific information in the order details emailed to you when you ordered.
If you are unsure,
If you did order a new device,
If you do not have your contact information,
Contact HP Sales using the HP store USA website and the posted phone number.
Be careful and stay safe.
