I cannot find a proper forum for monitors.... Just bought new computer and the hp Pavilion 32q yesterday, and cannot get the sound to work. I'm using the HDMI cable, so according to the manual, that should do it for sound. However,I go to Devices - Sound, I only see 1-Digital Display Audio (not plugged in) and I see 'Speakers' Realtek High Definition Audio - Default Device. I've worked my way through properties and speakers, and I hear NOTHING.
Help, please!!!!

Please do not try to fix anything, very simple answer is you need speakers to be able to have sound and the HP 32q monitor does NOT have speakers. Its specs:

Also, the manual clearly talks about sound --- I'm confused.

On page 16, troubleshooting, it talks about speaker volume -- why would it do that if there are no speakers?

Hi,
Its specs (under A. Technical specifications section) does not say anything about speakers. Must be someone mixed up with other models when writing the book.
Regards.

What does this mean in the user guide, in regards to pressing the "+" button???
"If the OSD menu is inactive, press to open the audio menu."
Is there an audio out jack that can be connected to the speaker, since the audio is carried to the monitor on HTMI?
