About two weeks ago I ordered a new battery that wasn't available for inmediate delivery. Everything went smoothly and I got a shipping date for 11/20/2020. However the part didn't ship in that date and now when I check the order status instead of having an estimated shipping date it just tells me my order is "open". I didn't think it would take this long to ship, even if it wasn't available for inmediate delivery. Is there any way to know when will it arrive? If not I'm thinking of just cancelling my order.

Observation - Not Policy, Not statements from HP
What ever time it is supposed to take, it will take longer.
There is nothing "average" about 2020 - repairs, shipments, customer service... "everything" is jammed, slowed, crawling along compared to "usual". Right now, it's worse due to end-of-year rushing about.
What to do?
Wait...

If you wish to cancel, please contact the HP Store / HP Store Customer Service.
Our Community is not a business group - we are not in any way associated with the HP Store, Customer Service.
This response is a courtesy - we do not have a way to move people to the head of the line or connect anyone to the Store Customer Service department.
Purely an observation:
If the order cannot be changed or managed and you receive the battery,
You have a "return" option time window - that too, is handled by HP Customer Service.
Good Luck.
Stay Safe.
