NAILED IT!!  First install the latest Support solutions Framework ( ver. 12  Dec 2016).  Then type msconfig  in search panel,

Click on it, Click services then disable Support Solutions Framework. Restart pc.  Go to computer, double click main drive ( C) , click swsetup, hover over files till you find Support solutions, right click, Click uninstall (HSPA)  ,run as administrator, it will uninstall Support Solutions. Then go to uninstall programs, click on Support Framework and uninstall.  BOTH GONE!!  Support Solutions MUST  be uninstalled first before Support Framework. Restart pc , go into BIOS and set default config.

Run your clean up software( i use Wisecare 365 Free but DONT run registry defrag, cause more probs than its worth ! )  Defragment disc and your pc should be like lightning!!

Thanks David. I have an hp 6910p and fresh installed Windows 7 home premium. I downloaded all the drivers updates etc from the hp site, but found that the Support Assistant and Support Framework was causing problems and really slowing down my pc, so I managed to work out a way to uninstall both and my pc is running much better now. This should also work for Windows 8 and 10 too.

Regards,

Jason.
