My Pavilion died one month out of warrantee. I had to spend $500 to have it repaired and it worked fine for a while. Less than six months later, the Lap Top died again. I heard something rattling around on the inside and pulled the DVD ROM out, and out fell a "C" clip!!! Now, it's my opinion that the repair service center left / dropped / missed a piece of hardware in my newly repaired machine, shorted out the motherboard and now I have the same problem again... The nice "Thick Accent" call center associate said there was nothing they could do due to it being more than the three month repair warrantee expiring, unless I paid for the repair again. I have been in the computer industry since 1985 and the level of quality in service is greatly and steadily declining.
HP had a chance to regain my respect for the product support but fell flat.
So, in the trash it goes and I will never purchase or recommend another HP Laptop / Notebook for myself nor business use again.
