HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop - 15-dk1007na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just a little puzzled as to why, after buying my laptop (it has happened before too) from Amazon, that when I start up for the first time (this is supposedly not a renewed laptop but new) that the Warranty is already several months in?

In my case, bought October 21 but the warranty started in May 21, leaving me with 8 months left.

Luckily I have had this rectified but it still puzzles me why this happens (twice in my case)

Is it Amazon ?  Is it HP?

Hi:

For whatever reason they do it, HP starts the warranty clock ticking the minute the PC leaves the assembly plant.

The longer the PC sits unsold someplace, the less time remains on the warranty.

It is not uncommon for as much as 6 months to have elapsed on the warranty before the PC is purchased by someone.

Some folks have had the warranty completely expired before they purchased the PC.

I'm glad you were able to get the warranty start and end dates adjusted using the HP warranty dispute process.
