HP pavillion
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I got a new laptop and tried to install a wireless printer but was unable.  I went to the HP123.com site and it gave me a phone number to call.  The tech told me I had 3 drives that were nonfunctional and that it would cost $500 each but that since the computer was only 2 weeks old, it was fully refundable immediately so I agreed to it.  They required encrypted gift cards to pay and insisted on keeping me on the phone while I made the purchase of the gift cards.  After an hour or so the tech (Sam) said there was a problem with $1000 of my money.  It was "stuck" in the server I asked if they couldn't just mail me a check and the said no and that I had to go get $2000 more to bump it our then process the funds but that it would all be returned to me.  Again they kept me on the phone during purchase.  and once again said it was "stuck"  that the only way I would ever see any of my money again was to  give them $2000 more.  I reluctantly agree after being pushed and coerced.  By this time it was 5 pm I did it bringing the grand total up to $7500.  They said that also didn't work and demanded more money.  when I told them they had all my money they told me I better figure out where to get more money or he would lose his job and I would never see one penny of my money.  I got his supervisors name and hung up.  I called back in the morning and David Morris the refund manager gave me the same crap stating I wouldn't be seeing my money ever again if I didn't give then $2000. I asked if they couldn't over ride the system or use company funds to bump the system back into order rather than mine.  He was very condescending and told me "Oh so you think you are smarter than me?  Why don't you come and get a job here and do it better then!"  When I asked what people with no money do he said they have to wait for it...I was never given an option to wait before so I said How long?  He said that' is not an option and tried to force me to come up with $2000.  He mocked me and hung up on me.  I later found out that the funds will be released back to me in 180 days which is ridiculous for 2 reasons, first that I was not given that option to just wait when the sum was only 1500, and second that I have to wait for 6 months to get the refund!!!  I have been using HP almost exclusively for years, but after this, NOT ANY MORE.  I am putting the word out everywhere so no one else has to go through that.  On the phone for 9.5 hours on day and 1.5 hours the next, humiliated, exploited, mocked, NOT RIGHT!

@Roxrippedoff,

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
