My dv7 went in for repair twice to "fix" this problem.  From the beginning, it had audio playback issues.  WITH ANY audio playback.  Streaming, file playback, disk drive playback (movies too).  Gliching every 30 seconds to every minute or two.  It use to include skipping distortions (like bad dub-step).  It now only skips out.  It also happens durring video playback, the video hangs up as well.  I said it before, my old XP laptops played music smoother without hickups better than this BEATS laptop.

If I have the task manager open, I see spikes in the used DSP processing right at the moment it skips out.  I turned off the disk protection that I was told about in another forum months ago, I thought it worked for a day or so, but no... the issues came back.

This laptop went in for repair twice.  Both times it was not fixed.  And the first time they just "replaced a speaker".  I am out of warranty now, but am strongly considering taking HP to small claims court because this thing has sucked every since I bought it.  AND now I just found out the Blu-ray drive hangs up about an hour into every disk...

Any last ideas?  Don't think I will buy another HP... EVER!!!
