would first like to express my disgust at the customer service provided to me today by HP Online customer service.

I contacted them requesting the details of any approved, registered HP Service Providers in Sydney, Australia as my wife dropped her HP 8 Slate tablet this morning and cracked the screen.

Not once did I mention a warranty claim (We have only had the tablet for 6 days but this is user damage). I simply asked the customer service technician for a list of available providers that I might enquire as to price for screen replacement.

Not only was the customer service representative unhelpful ("It would really help if you had to Serial Number of the tablet with you" / 'I haven't, the tablet is at home. All I need is a contact number for a local repairer' / "That will be difficult if you don't have the tablet with you") - They then advised me that there were no authorised repairers in Sydney Australia!!!

HP being a multi national company, I find this extremely hard to believe!!! I questioned the rep again, in exact words 'Are you telling me that HP, a multi national company, does not have any registered repairers in the Sydney, Australia area'. Response: That is correct.

Through the power of GOOGLE, I was indeed able to find a (no, several) approved HP repairers that I have since contacted for a quote.

There are countless SAMSUNG (Yes, I dare use that word here!!!) repairers in Sydney!!! Maybe I should be looking at those tablets instead!!! By countless, I mean that the first 10 websites I searched and called all supported and repaired the Samsung brand, but wouldn't touch HP. Is there something the company is not telling us here????

Aside from all this, would anyone else a) feel the same way with the customer service treatment provided by HP, or should I say the LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE or b) know of a company in Sydney, Australia that can repair a HP tablet screen.

Warmest Regards,
