Product Name: dv6-6c59ea
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)
My laptop has power issues. It doesn't charge (battery light blinks 3 times and then it goes off) unless I fiddle with the charger for a while or leave it for a while, and then it starts to charge. After its charged if I plug out the charger the battery only last 15 minutes max on a fill charge. I sent it on for what I suspected was a power surge last time. I got the laptop back with a new charger, but not sure if the same battery.
Last name get as I went through the same procedure as I needed to save work to a hard drive. The battery pack blew up as I was holding it (popped and sparked) As I tried to take it out of the laptop. It did the same again.
I read up on battery issues and realised this same thing has happened before to other hp laptop owners after 3 years. Which is about the same time scale for me. Batteries even blew up after not being powered.
I would like to find out if my battery was replaced in January 2015, or is it the 3 year old fire hazard battery. Before my house is set on fire.
Also what can be done about this issue as I raised the power surge issue the last time I sent my laptop in to HP.
I also know there was a battery recall in 2014 for certain batteries.
Would really appreciate some feedback
Thanks.
