Product Name: Pavilion DV6-7010US
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My synaptics mouse will randomly go into "click lock".

This happens in ANY window with a scrollbar. Firefox, Windows explorer...doesn't matter.

When it happens, I can still move the mouse but it gets synched with the scroll bar. The scroll bar moves up and down as I move the cursor up and down. Left click becomes inoperative.

I freaking HATE THIS. sometimes I can use keystrokes to get into the "mouse" section of control panel and reset the mousepad. Often I have to reboot the laptop to restore my mouse to normal.

1) This does NOT happen when I'm using an external mouse.

2) I obviously DID unselect "click lock" as an option.

3) I have tried several versions of drivers from HP and Synaptics with ZERO improvement.

4) My O/S, Windows 7 64 bit has always been up to date.

According to Device Manager, it's a "Synaptics TouchPad V8.1 on PS/2 Port"

If you like "click lock" then I think you're deranged, but to each his own. I don't like it, I don't want it, and I just want to get RID OF IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IS there some registry ket I can disable to kill this? I've tried everything else I can think of...and unless I can fix this issue I'm trading this POS in for a Dell.
