So I'm posting here to express overall dissatisfaction with HP products, hoping somebody might see it and actually improve something.

I don't understand why HP thinks it's okay to produce low quality equipment and make people pay what they do. I'm hoping that they might actually start producing high quality products instead of crap to market in stores.

I bought my laptop in August 2014. I spent over $300 on it, after I lost my job. I'm also in college, and needed a trustworthy laptop to complete my homework assignments on, as well as research papers, and online assignments. It was very hard for me to come to the decision to spend over $300 on a laptop since I had recently lost my job.

Less than 4 months after buying it, I started it up one day and my hard drive had somehow become un-seated and told me I needed to reinstall an operating system to get it to work. I called tech support and had to spend $20 to ship it to them so they could fix something that was not my fault.

The laptop came back to me and of course all of my files - like my unfinished school assignments - were not able to be recovered.

A few weeks later, it happened again. Got free shipping both ways and expidited repair, but again, the partially completed assignments and other files of importance were not able to be recovered.

Now a few weeks after the 2nd repair, it randomly flashes a blue screen that says an error occurred and it needs to restart my computer. Of course, this has happened multiple times when I am halfway through homework assignments, more specifically online assignments that require me to answer 1000+ questions, and happens halfway through and I am not able to save the progress of my assignment. Of course this never happened before, but after my computer was "repaired" by tech support.

My conclusion is that I've spend over $300 on a piece of crap. I'm sick of constantly having to go back and forth with tech support about things that should not be going wrong, and are not my fault but the fault of the manufacturer. Not to mention I'm an unemployed college student, and I don't have the money to have it repaired at Best Buy or other retailer, nor do I have the time to deal with Tech Support, since I usually can't understand what the out-sourced employees are even saying to me.

Please, get your crap together HP!
