Certain elements are displayed (on screen) inappropriately in red-orange, including inappropriate red-orange appearing in video imagery, and also for example red-orange screen (instead of black background) when starting computer when Windows window image is at center of screen.  Seems that commonly there is some of this present on screen:  solid and/or red-orange mixed with darker color/s, when the color/s displayed should be darker colors only.  The problem is consistent and persistent, with the same elements, parts of elements, and videos, always displaying improperly or partly so in the same manner.

Image on external monitor is normal.

System recovery has had no effect.  No warning/error symbol appears corresponding to any device listed in "device manager", including when all topics are expanded so that all devices are visible.  Exapnding "display adapters", amd m880g with ati mobility radeon hd 4250" appears, and clicking on that "device status" is listed as "This device is working properly."

Driver and software updates listed here have had no impact:  http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=430...

This is frustrating:  this is relatively cheap replacement computer for expensive dv series computer which was one of many models in which overheating issue could not be fixed as problem was built into the motherboard.  The replacement was made only after lenghty class action lawsuit, during which computer had completely failed to function.  That dv series computer had critical failtures (due to heating) leading up to the most critical of all -- computer not functioning at all.  Very expensive paperweight. None of these problems were result of user error !
