First off I would like to say that I have 15 years experience with software, hardware and network support, not that I can't take advice. In fact that is one of the biggest lessons I have learned in my career is to always listen to others advice.

Tonight I tried to install a Java update, when I did, I got an error that the Java installer could not close zumodrive (which happens to be HP clouddrive). I checked another laptop of the same model which our business owns, same problem. I knew I could either msconfig it or uninstall/reinstall but didn't want to be stuck with it every time I needed an update, so I used the tech support chat. After typing my problem three times and the tech not understanding, I callled in.

I spoke with a person named Prashan Tran, who wanted me to do a system restore to last week. I explained that for performance reasons, our business keeps system restore turned off. He was insistant on doing a system restore even though it wasn't available. I explained to him it was a problem on two similar laptops, he wanted me to create a new admin account which I did and rebooted. The computer then froze on shutting down. He yelled at me and kept telling me that despite the fact that my computer was frozen I needed to open internet explorer and allow him remote access. Since he obviously wasn't listening, I asked for a supervisor, Prashan refused. Prashan had also suggested that for a sticking key, I update my firmware. Prashan also told me the definition of NTFS was a file required for booting.
I hung up and called back to speak to another rep who asked me to repeat myself five times and told me that I had to uninstall my system drivers and reinstall them when I update java(what???). I asked for a supervisor, she refused and said she would have someone call me, she had no timeframe. She also put me on hold for about 5 minutes without asking.

This is absolutely the WORST customer service I ever received in my life. I have seen several complaints about service here, each complaint seems to be followed by someone saying hp is the best customer service. I have to wonder if this is hp's site admins logging in to protect their appearance. I certainly hope I just had bad luck tonight.

Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for Hewlett-Packard.
