Hi, I have a Savi 8420 series headset, with TEAMS. I have this headset connected to my Avaya 2420 desk phone via an EHS connection. SN: 3ALFFM

Software version: 21.1.12.1

Problem: I use this headset for voice dictation through the phone. I have noticed that the volume of my voice on recording constantly fluctuates or randomly drops in volume. I have "close conversation limiting" turned off, and the wireless audio quality is set to "Conversation". Is there a way to prevent this voice dropout from happening? It seems to work fine on normal phone calls or TEAMS meetings. Just not when I'm recording my speech.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi @cbhugh, Welcome to the Poly HP Support Community.

I’m sorry to hear about the difficulties you’re experiencing with the Savi 8420 headset. I understand how crucial it is to have your headset functioning perfectly, and I appreciate your patience as we work through this issue together.

To help resolve the problem, I kindly suggest the following troubleshooting steps:

Adjust Exclusive Mode Settings (Windows PC):

  • Go to Sound Settings > Recording.
  • Right-click on the headset microphone and select Properties.
  • Under the Advanced tab, please uncheck the option that allows applications to take exclusive control of the device in the Exclusive Mode section.

Adjust Microphone Volume:

  • Go to Sound Settings > Recording.
  • Right-click on the Headset Microphone and select Properties.
  • Navigate to the Levels tab, where you can adjust the microphone volume to your preference.

Please try these steps and let me know if the issue persists. would request you contact our HP Support and our Support Engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link.
