Savi W720
macOS 10.14 Mojave

After a recent Zoom update my W720 was no longer auto picking up when joining a Zoom session although the Zoom audio option was turned on.   Although this was a minor inconvenience I decided to try and fix it today.

The W720 is connected to my laptop via a USB micro to on the W720 to a USB-A on the Mac.    I went into Poly Lens and it was correctly seeing the Savi W720 and showed as connected but Poly Lens showed there was an update for the headset.   So I selected to install it.   After 15 to 20 seconds I got a message that it failed to install and now Poly Lens showed three version of the Savi W720 and all showed as disconnected.   Also when selecting the pickup the headset via the USB button turns the indicator on the button amber and I get no sounds through the headset although it is selected as the audio source in Zoom and in other apps.   After a few moments the amber light turns off and the base does not react to any button presses.  I then need to reset the base by pulling the power cord.

I removed the 3 entries hoping that the headset would show back up in Poly Lens but it is not.

What I have tried:

  1. Did a factory reset by unplugging the base and disconnecting the battery in the headset for 10 seconds - No change
  2. Tried to remarry the headset to the base using the secure manual method - No change the the marry operation appeared to work
  3. Tried over the air method to remarry the headset to the base, with the same results - No change

At this point I am not even sure it would be possible to reflash the base/headset or not.   Is the headset toast?
