I will check. Hard to see how I could get that wrong. I just clips in place.  I will take a photo of it when I get home and attach.

It is actually pretty easy to damage this when reinstalling the carriage.

Mine didn't even have one.  I ordered one and had the left side off, so it was simple to install.  I slid the left side in and the right side had a clip and I just pushed it in place. download (23).jpg

I ordered an oem set of trailing edge cables today. I will get those in 2 days and try that.

checking out the carriage bushing now and changing my trailing edge cables to oem instead of amazon.  I notice the carriage bushing has a switch that raises and lowers the bushing. It was in the raised position (switch to the left) If I move the switch to the right it lowers the bushing.  Which position should it be in?

I went through it again yesterday.  Belt is on correctly. Carriage moves freely to left and right without alot of resistance.  I replaced the trailing edge cables again, just in case I got defective ones.  I checked carriage bushing. Note, when I initially did this my machine did not even have a bushing, and worked fine. The bushing is installed correctly with the clip side on the left.  Encoder strip is installed with the metal side down, and aligns straight through the carriage.  All connections on the carriage are made, trailing edge and encoder strip sensor on the right hand side of the carriage.  Fired it up and I still have the same Paper Jam code.  When initializing, carriage moves about a centimeter to the left and then faults out.  I am at a point where I don't know what to try next.   Suggestions please.
