HP DesignJet T1120
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The plotter needs servicing so is currently not available. We have a service call in to the tech but are waiting for parts before it can be fixed. The scanner, which is a separate device,  is displaying the message "Printer needs to be online to perform this task". We can only scan to USB right now as we have not been able to scan to the network for a couple of years. Is there anyway to isolate the scanner from the plotter until the plotter is working again.

few months back , I had the T1100 SD scanner  (  the 1 with LCD PC on the top middle ) & the T1100 44" printer,

the scanning software did not perform final scan without the printer.....no matter how I tried.

We have a client that runs a couple of these in stand alone mode but they scan to USB keys. Their environment does not lend itself to network scanning. Likely the reason you cannot network scan will be related to outdated security protocols (SMB 1) on the scanner unless you have updated the firmware on the scanner assembly, which is separate from the plotter upgrade. USB might be a pain but it works. Just make sure you have not selected the copy function.
