Hello all. I recently purchased an HP Designjet T630 36" plotter for my home office. I am an architect and it will mainly be used for plotting blueprints. I does give me the side benefit of being a color printer and my family and I play a lot of DnD. I tried printing a couple color maps over the weekend on HP Universal Instant-Dry Satin Photo Paper and it seems no matter what I do, the colors are washed out and everything is printing too dark. Is it the paper or am I doing something wrong?

I'll take a stab at this.

I have/had a T730, similar to your T630.  Both of these models are made mostly to do blueprints.

You're probably going to have to do a little experimenting to get the colors right to match what you're seeing on your monitor.  Check the paper settings to be sure you've selected the right paper.  Maybe even try some different paper setting.  You say you're using HP Universal Instant-Dry Satin Photo Paper.  Maybe try a small sheet of glossy and set the resolution to the max 2400x1200, according to the spec sheet of the printer.  If you don't have a manual you can download here:https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-designjet-t630-printer-series/33508840/model/33508841/manual....

You may not get a professional-quality phot but you might get something acceptable to you.  I tried printing some photos on my T730 and it was just ok.  Good enough to hang in the house but good enough to gift to someone.

I don't work for HP....I just repair their printers.
