HP Designjet 500
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have a problem with the cutter of my HP DesignJet 500, the carriage picks up the cutter and before it cuts the whole page it drops the cutter.  This happens almost every time but in different positions.  I have changed the cutter assembly twice but the problem persists.

Thanks,

Please use lubricant on the silver color carriage rail....and use good quality paper.... Then it... In the cutter.... Here one spring which is evolving with carriage unit with pick the cutter on paper cutting mode..... Please check the spring will work properly.

open the cover... move the cutter to the middle... lubricate the center of small wheel & see does it help....

make sure the cutter was position on right track & screw tightened.

Hi Rashed,

I used lubricant on the carriage rail as you seggested and the cutter is now working fine, thanks for the advise.

Hi Jason,

I followed Rashed's suggestion and yours to lubricate the carriage rail and the wheels of the cutter and now it's working fine.

Thanks,
