@Erik73

Ordinarily, unless you are connected to a work environment, in which case your IT department will supply the DNS setup for your office / network,  DNS is provided to you by your ISP (Internet Service Provider).

I can offer the following general advice -- it might be possible for you to extrapolate the information you require for your situation.

Examples

Set Wi-Fi IP address / DNS server addresses

The following is relevant to recent Windows environment.

Control Panel > set icon view > Network and Sharing Center >

Change Adapter Settings > Right-Click on Wi-Fi > Properties

Tab Networking

Scroll down, select / highlight Internet Protcol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)

Click Properties

Tab General

Select one:

  • Obtain an IP Address automatically  (from your router / network)
  • Use the following IP address >> Fill in the information for your local network

Select one:

  • Obtain DNS server address automatically (from your router / network)
  • Use the following DNS server addresses >> Fill in the information for your ISP server configuration

If the printer is on the network, use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to set the IP Address / DNS server addresses

Reminder

  • Even assuming you have access to the Embedded Web Server,
  • Assuming your printer supports the EWS option,
  • The following example will likely NOT match your Designjet setup.

Example provided as a general reference:

Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Network > Wireless (802.11) > IPv4 Configuration

Obtaining DNS information

First check with your own ISP -- for example, AT&T, Comcast, Xfinity...

and / or

What is my DNS

DNS Servers

Welcome to the DNS Server Database, here you will find a comprehensive list of the main DNS servers for various popular ISP's located around the world. This list will help you with finding the best DNS server to use for your internet connection which will result in fast DNS lookups.

If you do not have an ISP, or if you are having continuing connection issues, use Google Public DNS.

If nothing works, if the information is not relevant, if your setup is so different that the advice is useless, my apologies.  Hopefully in that case, one of our "large printer" experts will jump in to assist.
