Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My T130 was just starting a new print job, when it stopped, beeped, and said "Printer Failure  There is a problem with the printer or ink system ...."  I tried the off/on suggestion, got nothing, fully disconnected the power and restarted, still nothing.  I've removed the ink cartridges and put them back in ... nothing.  FWIW, the black cartridge did have some ink on the outside of the case (yes, they are all HP cartridges).

The printer will successfully load and unload the roll, so that part seem to be working. I even did a firmware reload - nothing.  The message indicates the printer can't tell the difference between a hardware problem orn ink cartridge problem, which strikes me as somewhat incompetent.

Biggest problem: when I go to HP Support Assistant or to the HP site and enter the serial number of the machine, which i have triple checked, it says it invalid. I've included a photo of the name plate. this mean i can't even use the support software or talk to HP online because it keeps rejecting my printer.
