HP DesignJet T610 24-in Printer

I bought an old used DesignJet T610. It prints just fine without any problems whatsoever. The only issue I'm having is when I try to update the current firmware version TJ6-TAJ6_7.0.0.4 to TJ6-TAJ6_9.0.1.1.  I can easily access the embedded web server of the T610. Under "Firmware update", I use the BROWSE button to select the extracted firmware file "TJ6-TAJ6_09_00_01-1_mvl40-x86-opt_B.fmw". But, here is where things get a bit tricky. First of all, when I click on the Browse button the pop-up windows explorer window always opens as if I'm trying to locate a PDF file. I have to change the file extention to "All Files" before I can upload "TJ6-TAJ6_09_00_01-1_mvl40-x86-opt_B.fmw" to the T610 by pressing the "Update" button. After "HP and Open Source license agreement" window comes up and I press "I agree" the firmware upload pop-up status window comes up as expected and informs me that the file is being uploaded to the T610 but remains at 0%. The T610 LCD display shows "Update: receiving". But after about 30-60 seconds the display the small pop-up status window disappears and the T610's LCD display now appears with an error code "74:01 - The firmware file could not be uploaded to the printer".

I'm trying to figure out whether the problem is the current firmware version TJ6-TAJ6_7.0.0.4 that has to be updated to some other firmware version before it can be updated to version TJ6-TAJ6_9.0.1.1 or whether the problem is somewhere else.

For some reason the rest of his post has been cut off.  Anyone report this to HP yet?  I know of one other person who's had the same problem.

I don't work for HP....I just repair their printers.
