Basically in the middle of printing posters, first my DesignJet T830 had an ink error. But then, when I thought that was fixed, it decided to stop detecting paper. It can see there is paper in the multi sheet tray, but if I try to load a roll, or perform any sort of maintenance, it says paper cannot be detected, then asks to remove the paper.

After some searching, I came to believe it was the printhead, so we got one ordered and I replaced the printhead...but alas, still the same problem persists, and now I've replaced the printhead (expensive replacement, by the way!) before absolutely necessary and still do not know what's wrong.

I've loaded a couple different types of paper, cleaned everything I know to clean (i.e. I sprayed air to dust everything out), and cannot figure out what the problem might be.

Can anyone point me in the right direction and help save this machine that up until now has worked great?! Thanks!

If your printhead was leaking, then the optical sensor could be polluted with ink. Here is an article I created on another site https://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/159305-designjet-t730-830-unable-to-load-paper

If there is no ink spilled then it is also possible that either the oops sensor or the optical sensor mounted on the carriage are defective.
