We have a DesignJet Z6 for student use at the university. Anytime a job is sent to the plotter from the Mac Minis in the room, it gives the following error message; "Assigned roll width not loaded on selected roll ID. Load 9 x 11 in paper." We are using a 36" roll and they are attempting to print large graphics. When the files are loaded onto a flash drive, which is then inserted in the plotter, the jobs print fine.

I believe they are primarily using Adobe Lightroom.

Any ideas what's causing the issue?

The most obvious issue is that the program you are printing from is asking for 9x11 paper. This would either be a setting in the page setup or in the driver when the file is sent. More likely a driver issue as you indicate that it prints fine from a USB stick, suggesting the file is formatted correctly.
