Hello all,

I’ve ran into an issue that I can’t resolve with my DesignJet Z6200. It’s been giving me an error code of 86:01. I’ve replaced the belt, encoder reader & encoder strip.

The printer starts up and the carriage moves smoothly, but when carriage slides ALL the way to the left it stops with a “clunk” and triggers the error.

Has anyone had any similar issues or have any suggestions? Anything would help, thanks!

When you move carriage with hand on the left side there is nothing that might cause clunk? Did you had this error before replacing parts?

The belt drive motor senses the increased current when the carriage reaches the end so it knows where is the carriage travel end. Might be the motor.

did you lubricate the carriage rod with recommended lubricant? Increased friction from lack of lubricant can cause this error. It also be an issue with the encoder strip? Have you run the Scan Axis Test yet?
