Hello,

I was recently given a 42" Designjet 500 printer.  Unfortunately, HP decided to no longer support this printer so I can not download a driver.  Does anyone know of a way for me to get this printer working?  I have Windows 11.  Thanks.

Just did a google search for "Designjet 500 driver" and several choices are out there.  I've not actually downloaded these listed below but got to the point of downloading before stopping and they seemed legit.  Watch for websites that want you to download an install utility of some kind.  They usually muck up things and will send you to other websites or just make it harder to download that actual driver you need.  You should be looking for a driver named "hpdj510wx64glen" or "hpdj510wx32glen" depending on if you have a 64 or 32 bit machine.

Here's one to try:

No need to download the utility.  Scroll down and find your printer to download the driver.

Here's another:

I've had good luck using the Win7 and win 10 drivers.  I doubt you'll find one for Win 11 specifically.

If neither of those work, send me a PM because I'm pretty sure I have a driver that will work.  Also know that the 500, 510 and 800 drivers are all pretty much interchangeable so if you come across an 800 driver, try it.

Let us know how you make out.

I don't work for HP....I just repair their printers.
