Product: Designjet 500
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP

Hi

 

I successfuly upgraded designjet 500 from version A.02.12 to A.04.xx. I downloaded version A.05.01 from hp website.

after running the software it says software sent to the printer but looking at front panel nothing is sent.

I am using usb cable

 

New heads are asking to upgrade the firmware to A.05.01

 

whats the solution to perform the upgrade

I've done three of these and found them to be a little quirky.  I had the same issue as you--sent the file but the plotter did not show it was receiving it, and nothing happened.

 

I finally got it to go when I disconnected my usb from the printer, sent the file from my laptop, and then reconnected the usb when the firmware program told me to.  At that point all three of mine upgraded.
