Product: HP DesignJet T1500 36-in PostScript Printer

I recently purchased a used DesignJet T1500 PostScript plotter on ebay. I had to purchase and replace the printhead which was not cheap but went pretty smoothly. Now I am seeing 2 error codes, 89:03 and 90:03 which seems to indicate a problem with a paper jam and/or the stacker or something related to it. There is no paper jam that I can see. I do not need the stacker for the print work that I do every day. Is it possible to permanently remove this large, incredibly complicated stacker from the printer so that I can use it as a boat anchor?? Only half joking.
