HP DesignJet T2500 36-in PostScript Multifunction Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

TSR here - I recently upgraded the user from older Dell to new Precision tower with Win11.  I've tried multiple times to properly install and plot to the Designjet with no consistent success.  I've updated the DJ firmware, confirmed the static IP, installed the print drivers directly from HP, and added the printer in Windows using the 'Add Printer' tool.  The Designjet Utility states it is unable to communicate with the plotter and Windows lists the status as 'unknown.'  Other users are able to plot from macOS with no issues.  This same Designjet was working properly with the former desktop running Windows 10.  I'm not sure what I've missed - I'm pretty sure it's a configuration issue on the Windows side.  Any assistance is appreciated.

What type of port did you configure for the driver? If you used auto-install routine in Windows there is a good chance that Windows created a WSD port. They are notorious for not communicating and you are best to manually configure a TCP/IP port for the printer driver.

This was very helpful.  Thank you - now it's time to fight with AutoCad and its impossible setups.
