HP DesignJet Z6dr 44-in PostScript Printer with V-Trimmer

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a Designjet Z6dr 44" printer and I am having trouble getting my colours to print how I want them.

I have tried just about everything I can think of and still can't find a solution that works.

I am printing on Hp everyday instant dry satin photo paper 235gsm - When I select the correct printer profile in the printer the prints come out like on the right of the attached photo.

When I Change the paper profile to photo matte or heavyweight coated, universal coated etc the colours come out like the left of the photo which is how I want them to look. The only problem is on the photo matt, coated stock profile the solid black comes out really thick and dull, almost like it's layering over the top with matt black, and just rubs off even after drying overnight.

I have tried just about everything I can think of, including; trying almost every paper profile in the system, using a Tif file, PDF file, PNG file, Jpeg file, changing settings in printer like rgb source profile, rendering intent, colour calibration etc etc.

Im printing through HP click software. I have also tried printing through the Mac print dialog with the same result.

Does anyone have any suggestions that would help?
