Hi Community,

My Z9 PS is not showing anything in display panel except barely seen the Home, Help, Back.. LEDs. Also, lights in formatter never light up, no carriage movement . Only life sign is the power button light up and fan making noise.

When first failed, checked electrical installation and was 131 volts.

Changed power supply but it was the same.

I have some questions. Maybe someone knows?

1-Power supply only supplies 12V. Where are the other supply voltages produced?

2- Which card would I try buying now? Formatter?, mechatronics?, other?

3- When I check formatter part #, I find several. My "bad" formatter is T8W16-60084HF

4- Is the formatter married to other parts like HD, Jester JDI PCA, CryptoAsic…?

5- Anything to try before buying parts?

First off, HP states that components are tagged on installation and not swappable for an old one.

Secondly, circuit diagram only shows 12V coming out of the power supply. 3 and 5 volts is provided by the printmech PCA. The diagram shows 2 12V outputs, one going to the printmech and one going to the formatter,
