Hi,
I am troubleshooting a Designjet Z9+ 44" Postscript model W3Z72A.
The plotter work fine with the roll of paper but not when we feed sheets.
It will feed the sheet and detect the beginning of the sheet, then it will feed the sheet all the way down without detecting the end of the sheet.
So the media roller will continue turning even if the end of the sheet is under the carriage.
It will give the error "Media too long over 66".
I have notice that one side of the Color sensor (SPE) (right side of the carriage) which hold one of the 2 screews is broken, Could that cause the problem?
I also did run the 0065-04 Media input - check scan motor and the test fail. Could it also be the scan axis motor defect?
Thanks for your help.

Not to state the obvious but if the motor is failing the test there is a good chance that the motor is the problem.
The broken color sensor description is not entirely clear. Is the sensor now hanging down? If so it could be adding friction to the movement but based on the fragile nature of that item, I would be less inclined to see that as a problem.
The error you post is not complete but all 65 errors are related to the media path and the code should read 0065-0004-xxxx the xxxx being the important part of the code that will likely tell you which component to replace.

Hi. Thanks for your reply.
On the color sensor there is 2 holes where the 2 screews goes, that hold the color sensor on the carriage.
One of the plastic part, where the hole is, is broken, so it hold just whit one screew. It look staight and holding but it might broke somehow.
So i am not sure if the color sensor is holding straight enough to give a good reading.
That part is very expensive (1,174.00$) on HP website.
I have look at the errors history and the errors are mostly: 0065-0006-0059
