Can the printer head still works if I don't use the printer for 5 years?

5 years is too long a period for a printer to be unused, the chances that the printhead will work after 5 years are minimal.

Can you tell us what model number you have?  Impossible to answer the question without that info.

I don't work for HP....I just repair their printers.

I have rescued old printheads sometimes. There is an HP video on how to do this for Officejet products posted on YouTube,  sorry I do not have the link handy. It entails soaking the printhead surface in warm water to loosen clogged ink. You must be careful to not get too much of the printhead wet. The steps and cautions are the same. If I come across the link I will post it. Black is the most troublesome as it is pigment based ink.
