Firmware Update Issue – HP DesignJet T790

Hi :

I’m running into a firmware update issue with my HP DesignJet T790. I’ve tried updating the firmware both before and after doing a full Disk Wipe (DoD 5220.22-M), but I keep getting the same error:

Firmware update error Update has failed. Two possible reasons:

• Invalid file.

• Not enough space available to install the firmware.

I’ve downloaded the correct firmware from HP’s official site and tried updating via USB, but no luck so far.

Can you help me with:

• Restoring or reformatting the printer’s internal storage

• Any other way to get the firmware installed successfully

- please share more details about both printer and ink cartridges

- we recommend both printer and ink cartridges to be HP only

- We at HP do not encourage using 3rd party accessories or devices , hardware upgrades unless advised in any form of hp documentation
